Description
Job Summary
Complete projects and initiatives as assigned in support of the Engineering Department and learning objectives set in the Intern Learning Agreement.

This is an in-person internship. You will be required to work at our Buffalo, NY office.

Essential Job Functions
1.  Assist in the completion of, or individually complete assigned projects in the support of Department initiatives. 
2. Support the Engineering department in the design and detail work for all design projects. 
3.  Become knowledgeable of various systems related to the Engineering function including Praxa, CMMS, etc.
4. Complete technical drawing tasks.
5. May assist in troubleshooting of Manufacturing and other equipment.
6. Work with other departments, including Tech. Services, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Manufacturing, lending Jr. Engineering support in the development and completion of tasks
7. May be assigned to perform research on various items and initiatives including troubleshooting issues, pricing, etc. 
8. Identify and make suggestions for improved methods, efficiencies.  
9. Learn and understand the role of the Engineering department in the function of the business as a whole, as well as in relation to other departments/functions across the business from manufacturing to sales.  
10. Communicate effectively with Managers and Employees of other departments as needed in order to complete tasks, learning appropriate avenues and tactics for business communication. 
11. Observe and participate in strategy and planning sessions for projects/initiative implementations. 
12. Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements
  • Must currently be enrolled in, or have recently completed a degree program in Engineering or similar discipline. 
  • Must be in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA and in at least the junior year of study.

  • Proven ability to think creatively to develop innovative ideas and solution. 
  • Must have proven knowledge and ability with technical design and drawing programs (Autocad or Solidworks). 
  • Technical writing ability.
  • Project planning/management knowledge (Microsoft Project).
  • General Mechanical knowledge including manufacturing systems, equipment, concepts, etc.
