As we continue to grow and integrate acquired businesses, we are looking for a Vice President of Global Supply Chain based in Buffalo, NY. The role will maintain overall responsibility for Global Inventory Management and Strategic Procurement activities throughout the company.  The qualified candidate will oversee all purchasing related activity (stock, non-stock, and MRO purchases) for the global organization and will drive global supply agreements. Additional responsibilities will include the alignment of the demand and supply activities providing primary direction for strategic sourcing initiatives by leveraging combined commodity spends throughout the global company. In addition to growing a team of Strategic Commodity Managers, this is a very hands-on role will lead site strategy with local Supply Chain Managers and their respective teams of site buyers and planners. This role reports to the Senior Vice President.

Essential Job functions:
•    Directs and oversees Nissha Medical Technology’s procurement policies, objectives, and initiatives. Oversees purchasing group with the objective to grow into a more sophisticated sourcing organization within the next 2-3 years.
•    Directs Global Inventory Management activities to establish and monitor global practices leveraging and working on implementation of Oracle across sites.
•    Works hands on with plant level Purchasing teams to align capabilities and requirements with corporate sourcing initiatives. Form and direct strategic negotiations to fully leverage combined volume spend by commodity across locales. Tracking, analyzing and optimizing expenditures, as well as negotiating savings with suppliers. Develop new and innovative purchasing processes to ensure the department procures product efficiently, on-time, and accurately.
•    Work closely with the Logistics and Distribution Department to establish and implement inventory management policies to be utilized in all Nissha Medical Technology Distribution Centers.
•    Closely align with Technical Service team, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure consistent application and alignment resulting in Item Master accuracy.  Ensure full compliance with all related FDA, ISO and all related regulatory requirements.
•    Works and guides cross-functional teams to drive implementations of supply consolidations/changes/etc., works urgently to create timely and meaningful management reports, such as purchasing variances, weekly exception reports, and monthly forecast accuracy that enable all areas of the company to manage departments more accurately and effectively.  
•    Actively interacts with Sales and Customer Service to provide manufacturing, inventory and replenishment guidelines and strategies. Responsible for inventory management and developing methods of tracking progress to show optimal cash flow management.
•    Interacts with the VP of Operations/Supply Chain/GM’s/Sr. Leadership and Operations staff to understand and resolve the limitations and constraints of the operations group related to Purchasing and Inventory Control practices.
•    Interacts with Operations, Sourcing, Supplier, Sales, Marketing, and key supply chain functions daily to understand and communicate the impact of product related decisions and other strategic initiatives that change the global demand or supply picture related to Raw Material and Finished Good availability.
•    Develops clear business processes that align system tools with company objectives. 
•    Runs 1-1 with any and all reports. Mentors and coaches local Purchasers/Buyers across the organization. Ensures strength of global bench and skills are maintained. Embraces and drives cultural and strategic changes managements by internal selling, educations and fostering proactive behavior.

•    Required; (either) MBA & 5-7 years’ work experience (or) 7-10 Years Management level experience working in a multi-national firm in Procurement/Purchasing
o    APICS Certification is preferred.
•    Required experience fundamentals of vendor selection, management, monitoring, contracting, negotiation, in Medical Device/Life Science or other similarly regulated space
•    Exposure to advance sourcing for NPD/NPI
•    Exposure to category management with at least some alignment to our sourcing categories:
o    Metals and formed metal components
o    Plastics resins/inks/chemicals
o    Electronic components and EM subs
o    Packaging (SBS board, printed products, labels, pouches, corrugated)
o    Converting roll/sheeted goods (foams, papers, film)
o    Finished Devices
o    Molding/extrusions
o    PCBAs
o    Interconnects/Connectors
•    Project Management (PMP/GPMI) desired.
•    Implementing and Executing – Quarterly Supplier Business Review, Supplier Scorecards, Setting KPIs, Reporting and driving PPV/Cost Savings/Supplier Development.
•    Well versed understanding in Manufacturing Operations, keen focus on prior Medical Manufacturing. Printing/Commodity markets also held highly.
•    Strong analytic skills and experience extracting and analyzing system generated data required.
•    Travel up to 25%-30% of the time.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
•    Minimum of 7 years of experience establishing, managing and continually improving a planning and scheduling department in a multi-plant or global environment
•    Integrate diverse technical functions into an Operations function to increase effectiveness.
•    Managing and improving an MRP system, preferably within Oracle ERP System
•    Applying knowledge of Operations and Planning to result in measurable improvement in lead time, on-time delivery, and overall service to customers.
•    Developing and implementing continual process improvement related to production planning.
•    Organizing people and resources toward the effective and efficient pursuit of defined performance objectives.
•    Contributes to the achievement of group objectives and works effectively with others in a group setting.
•    Effective teacher, mentor, coach, promoter and developer of individuals.
•    Ability to communicate across cultural differences to achieve company objectives.
