Biomedical Innovations, a premier contract manufacturer of Medical Devices in the Colorado Springs area, is looking for a Sourcing Engineer to join our Supply Chain Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, driving and implementing sourcing strategies for the Organization with an overall focus on influencing technology road maps, maintaining long term supplier relationships and managing to the lowest total cost of ownership.


  • Follows all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR’s) as defined by BMED’s practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure that customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are met.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and acts in accordance with BMED’s Employee Guidelines and applicable quality standards as outlined in BMED’s Quality Manual.
  • Identifies and develops suppliers that are qualified to meet all applicable quality, price and manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the technology and industry trends and performs competitive analysis on relevant products.
  • Develops and maintains deep technical relationships with current and potential suppliers.
  • Influences supplier’s technology road maps to ensure product/component technical, production and business growth objective requirements are met.
  • Provides technical commodity, supplier expertise and consulting with engineering for lower total cost.
  • Resolves all technical queries arising from the quote process.
  • Owns technical expertise in the supplier negotiations and provide review and input for product development.
  • Conducts analysis of drawings/components for quotation to identify potential design changes for cost savings plus identifying manufacturing processes best suited to cost effective sourcing.
  • Provides strategic sourcing for new products that may involve market research, procurement due diligence, requirements and scope development, planning and sourcing strategy.
  • Provides front line negotiation with knowledge of commodity strategies and an ability to influence design, technology and sourcing decisions with a view of total cost of ownership.
  • Has an established contact base in the area of Medical Device components and services.
  • Work in a cross functional team environment with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain and global suppliers.
  • Leads and drives execution of supply chain strategies in a collaborative and multi-site matrix environment to achieve both tactical and strategic goals while partnering with engineering.
  • Assist with supplier quality issues and drive to resolution
  • Abides by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies
  • Regular attendance.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.

  • Works in a cross functional team environment with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain and global suppliers.
